Ambush West Virginia Paintball FAQ
Frequently asked questions about paintball gaming adventures near the New River Gorge in West Virginia.
Question: Can I Bring My Own Paintball Gun?
YES!! You are permitted to bring your own paintball gun. We allow both pump and semi-automatic .68 caliber paintball guns. Full-Automatic Paintball guns are
NOT permitted! All personal guns will be chronographed by our judging staff, and must be 280 fps.
Question: Can I Bring My Own Paintballs?
No. Only Ambush WV paintballs may be used on our fields.
Question: Do We Need To Sign A Release Form?
Before participating in any adventure activity, each participant is required to read and sign a release form, which includes a waiver of liability, an assumption of risk and an indemnification. ALL MINORS not accompanied by a parent or legal guardian need to bring a signed copy of Ambush WV's release form the day of the activity.
Question: Do You Play Paintball In Bad Weather?
We play rain or shine. If it is supposed to rain, we recommend that you bring rain gear to wear under the camo coveralls which are provided.
Question: Does It Hurt When You Are Shot?
Paintball guns use compressed air to propel paintballs at speeds of 280 feet per second. What you feel depends upon the clothing you wear (hint: loose and layered clothing reduces the impact!) and the range at which you were shot. Unprotected, yes! It hurts. That's why we provide protective clothing and headgear.
Question: How Big Of A Group Can You Accommodate?
Individuals and groups of all sizes are welcome. For individuals or small groups (less than 20 people) we will form teams (letting your party stay together) and do our best to match you against a group of equal size and skill. If you have a group of 20 or more, you will play on your own fields—just you and your friends!
Question: Is Paintball Safe?
Ambush WV guides will train and instruct guests in fair play methods & safety precautions (including leaving your helmet and goggles on at all times and gun safety). Though we use best practices, as in any adventure sport or activity, there is always the potential risk for accidents, injuries and even death.
Question: What Should I Wear?
Answer: Solid toe (secure) footwear is required. Flip-flops are not acceptable. Wear comfortable pants and shirt. You will be fitted with a helmet and goggles, paintball belt and camo coveralls. Dress for the weather forecast. In spring and fall, bring a wool or polypropylene jacket and a windbreaker. For cold and wet weather, bring a jacket or polypropylene, pile fleece, and a windbreaker. We go rain or shine! Phones, wallets, and other loose items should be locked in your car. We give you the option to store your car keys at our facility.
Question: What's Your Cancellation and Other Policies?
Answer: Our
cancellation policy for paintball is the same as our rafting policy.
