Just for Kids
We offer rafting for kids as young as 6, rock climbing, horseback riding and fishing for children as young as 8, and biking for those 10 and up. You and your family have the optimal range of choice about what you do and when you do it! Make sure to leave time for the addictive in-camp fun including volleyball, videos of the day’s excitement, corn hole tournaments and delicious ‘kid friendly’ meals.
We have designed specific trip itineraries for younger outdoor enthusiasts through our Kids Camp to accommodate people of all ages and skill levels.
River Adventures
Plan to stay for several days to enjoy the abundance of activities the New River Gorge Adventure Center has to offer.Our Upper New River rafting trip is formatted for kids, ages 6 and up, where the primary focus is being together and sharing paddling teamwork and family fun while bouncing through mild rapids as you raft or kayak in an inflatable kayak with your family through the dramatic scenery of the New River Gorge. Older children and adults in your crew will enjoy high action rafting on the Lower New River.
Activities & Explorations
Non-adrenaline seekers may prefer one of our many other New River region activities. New River Jet boat Tours, or a tour through a recreated mountain pioneer village. Or spend the day horseback riding through West Virginia hills! You'll experience the beauty of West Virginia as the pioneers did hundreds of years ago. Walk through West Virginia meadows or to mountaintops for a picnic lunch or take in an afternoon of West Virginia fishing on the New River.If you prefer a more active day, take guided a mountain bike journey, or reconnect with your family through our Family Time Challenge. And if you still have energy at the end of the day, sign up for one of our evening West Virginia rock climbing rappelling trips. We have trips for all skill levels!
