Adventure Activity Choices

Student groups ages 12 and up have a great set of outdoor adventures to choose from for an outstanding field trip. They learn hard skills like paddling a raft, climbing up a rock wall, negotiating a challenge course. They also learn the invaluable soft skills that will help them be successful adults: negotiation, leadership, decision-making, teamwork, and confidence.

Whitewater rafting on the famous New River and Gauley River. The time of year and age of groups determine which sections of these rivers are best for each group. Ages 6 to 60+ experience our half day, full day, and overnight river trips every year!
Rock Climbing Instruction: Learn from the best instructors in one the world's most popular climbing areas
Zip Lining!: Our new world-class TreeTops Canopy Tour at our Mill Creek campus offers the perfect mix of thrilling excitement zipping through the tree tops with hands on naturalist education of the local flora, fauna, and woolly adelgid research.
Mountain Biking: We have trails at our resort and can set up guided or self-guided biking trips along trails in the New River Gorge area.
Horseback Riding and Hiking: More chances to get out into beautiful terrain (and unplug the electronics)!
